Good and evils Cobra

Snakes have marked the whole history of Egypt, from the first pharaohs to Cleopatra who died, bitten by an Egyptian cobra. The snakes were divided in good and evil ones; the good ones protected the dead person’s journey to afterlife, the evil ones were a threat for the universal order.
One of these is Apophis, a monstrous creature that wrapped with his coils the creation and attacked the god Sun in his old age, at the end of the day.
The victory of the star was indicated with the blood – red down.
There was then the “ureo” the cobra that appeared on the pharaoh’s crown.
It was symbol of royalty and of the goddess Wadjet, matron of lower Egypt.
The ureo protected the Sun and the pharaoh from enemies with his inflamed breath. For this reason the cobra was on the king’s forehead.
