According to the legend, he was Redgedet’s first son, but he was probably born by princess Neferhetepes and so the queen Hatepheres’s II and Djedefre’s nephew, descendant of a secondary branch of Cheope’s family. His temple near Abu Ghorab is famous, south of Heliopolis, the city dedicated to Ra and Atum the incarnations of the solar god and the native place of the new royal family. Userkaf favored many journey in the nearby nations: he established important commercial relations, mostly with the Egeo world, which were very advantageous for the economy of the Country.
