Snefru

| Snefru was an important pharaoh who increased the wealth in Egypt
and reigned for twenty-nine years. His origin is uncertain although,
probably, he was Huni’s son (last pharaoh of the III dynasty) and a
secondary wife’s one. He became pharaoh marrying Hetepheres, daughter of
the predecessor Huni and Cheope’s future mother. He built a fleet with
boats 50 meters long to import cedar from Lebanon. He continued the
occupation in Sinai (maybe begun during the first dynasty), of the oasis
and of Nubia. He built three pyramids, one in Meidum and two in Dahshur,
that mark the evolution of this monuments. The first one is in big steps,
the second is in a double melination (also called rhombus pyramid), the
third is of a tradition kind.
