Ramses VI

Ramses’s III son was the last pharaoh whose presence was attested in Sinai. Even he was obsessed with the problem of the legitimacy of his position, exactly as Ramses IV, forgetting to care about the troubles that afflicted the country. Under his reign some functionaries distinguished themselves for their abilities such as the visir Negerrenpet, the great priest of Ptah called ptahmes and finally Amon’s first prophet. In Aniba Penne’s or Penmut’s tomb has been found, who represented the king in lower nubia (wawa) who dedicated a statue to Ramses VI and ordered to excavate in Aniba, capital of Wawa, a beautiful tomb that today has been transferred for safety in Amada. Ramses VI had to face various invasions by the western people, who committed terrible incursions in the territory with acts of vandalism and sacks.
