The processional boat

 

These boats were used to transport the divinity’s statue from the main sanctuary to the various sacred places, on the yearly celebrations. Surmounted from the stand with the statue, it was brought on shoulder by the god’s priests, preceded by a “one who purified the course of the procession with fumigation of incense. This kind of boat was kept in a particular of the temple near the “Sancta Sanctorum”.
Ammone’s one was very important and called Userhat, decorated at the prow and at the stern with ram’s heads.
