Born in Caracas (Venezuela) fraom a tradesman, he went to schools in Germany. At twenty-eight years old he became the scientific consultant in the German General Consulate in Cairo. In Abusir he unburied several prehistoric tombs: in Der el-Medina he found the burials of high-class Egyptians. The sepulchers were his hobby. He finished his days a little after he was nominated honorary professor, far from the country of the pyramids and from th Valley of the Kings. Moeller died October 2nd 1921 in Sweden for a high fever ravaged by shudders.
