| The archaeologists called “The house of souls” some small terracotta models that were put upon the tombs. The first examples that appeared in the VI Dynasty, were miniature offering tables. After following improvements, they had side structures and had the shape of real houses, and reached their final definitive aspect only in the Middle Reign. The use of these ornaments was forgotten at the end of the XII Dynasty. |
